About the Author
Margret K. Amatayakul, MBA, RHIA, CHPS, CPHIT, CPEHR, FHIMSS, has more than 40 years of experience in national and international healthcare information management. She is a leading authority on electronic health record (EHR) strategies for healthcare organizations and has extensive experience in EHR selection, and project management, and optimization for meaningful use. After having served as director of medical record services at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, associate professor at the University of Illinois at the Medical Center, associate executive director of the American Health Information Management Association, and executive director of the Computer-based Patient Record Institute, Amatayakul formed her own consulting firm, MargretA Consulting, LLC, in 1999. She provides health information systems technology consulting services, freelance writing, and educational programming to the healthcare industry.
